You're set on starting your own business, maybe selling delicious jams and jellies. Or perhaps you've decided it is time to market your secret recipe of barbecue sauce. Whatever you're selling, you have to have a container. And choosing the right container is almost as important as what is inside.
Last time, we talked about different kinds of containers: glass and plastic bottles and jars, and plastic tubs. But let's delve a little deeper into choosing the right shape and size of your container. At Container and Packaging, there are thousands of options to choose from, so it can be overwhelming to try to find exactly the right container. That's where we come in to help.
What's In a Product?
Take a moment to analyze your product for a moment. Imagine your throngs of future customers using your soon-to-be famous recipe for the very first time. Ask yourself this question: how do they get it from the container to their mouths? This may seem like an overly simplistic question, but really take a minute to think about it. Visualize yourself with a jar of thick peach preserves. If the container that this jam is in has an extremely narrow neck, you are going to have a heck of a time figuring out how to get your spoon in there to get the preserves out and onto your toast. Likewise, if you instead have a bottle of hot sauce that you want to shake sparingly into your favorite chili, and the hot sauce bottle has a wide opening, you're going to get spicier chili than you bargained for. From these two examples, you can see how important it is to choose the correct jar or bottle for your product.
Choosing the Right Container?
So what kind of product do you have? A thick jelly that requires a wide opening so that your consumers can easily scoop it out with a spoon? Check out some glass jars or plastic jars for wider-mouthed containers. Is your recipe a highly viscous sauce, like ketchup or barbecue sauce, that requires a long neck for controlled flow, but with a wider mouth to enable enough air flow so that the sauce will come out? If this is the case, look no further than plastic or glass sauce bottles. If you have your own honey bees and are selling the honey you have harvested from your hives, then you can find a wide selection of plastic honey bottles here, including traditional honey bears and larger jugs. Are you selling your own specialty perfume or essential oil blend? Then check out our selection of glass vials. And if you are creating spice blends, then you can choose from our wide variety of plastic spice bottles.
